1. Small sets
Each lesson introduces about five words, each anchored to a verse where it appears.
2. Retrieval through play
Games ask you to recall meanings rather than just re-read them — one of the most reliable ways to remember.
3. Spaced repetition
After a correct answer, a word returns after 1, 2, 4, 7, 14 and then 30 days. A mistake brings it back sooner. A word counts as mastered only after repeated correct recall across those spaced reviews.
Encountered, correct, mastered
- Encountered — you've seen it in a lesson or game.
- Answered correctly — you've recalled it at least once.
- Mastered — you've recalled it correctly across several spaced reviews.
Root, lemma and form
Arabic words grow from roots — usually three core letters. A lemma is the dictionary entry; a form is how the word appears in a verse. Related forms share a theme, but not always exactly the same meaning.
